Principal's Feedback

On 24th July 2018, our team presented the workshop materials and take home kit to the principal.

Here are some of the comments raised:

1. The slides are too informative and wordy. Parents do not get much opportunities to participate.

The principal mentioned that our slides were not interactive, where parents are not given the platform to share their ideas. Hence, we modified our slides so that parents will be participating more, and offering their thoughts about play. This will allow them to understand the importance of play and parental involvement, through the discussions and answers they provide.

Furthermore, quizzes or google forms (an example) could be done during the workshop itself, to get parents' immediate feedback/opinions on a certain question.

This could invite discussions and techniques on how to include play in children's learning.

2. The resources in the kit are beneficial for children in targeting the 6 learning domains, however, they are not sustainable and are time consuming to create.

The principal suggested that we make all the resources digital. This would save time and materials. Parents can also access this easily and efficiently. Hence, we created this Google Drive to store all of the workshop materials and take home kit resources. For presentation of the final resources, parents can either take pictures of their children doing the task, or bring back the craft made for the particular activity.

3. The principal suggested that we have a badge for them when they complete each task.

This badge will serve as a motivation for both parents and

child to collect once they finish each activity.

In addition, a checklist could be included for each activity for parents and child to have an indicator of the tasks needed to be done.

This could allow parents to check if their child has completed all the tasks for the activity, and to keep track of their progress as well.
